Rahul Gandhi, the head of the Congress, poked fun at Prime Minister Narendra Modi, accusing him of utilising investigation agency for “donation business.” Gandhi’s jab follows the Congress’s accusation that a number of companies made donations to the BJP’s party coffers while under federal agency investigation.
“Are you aware of the Prime Minister’s ‘Donate, Take Bell and Business’ initiative?” tweeted Rahul Gandhi. The Prime Minister of the nation is abusing the ED, IT, and CBI to conduct “donation business,” a la “Vasuli Bhai.”
Gandhi claimed that 30 corporations under investigation by government agencies had given money to the BJP, and he accused the agencies of turning into “recovery agents.” The owners of an MP distillery gave to the BJP as soon as they received their bail because the contribution industry is so openly practised. Dishonesty and standards that apply differently to others benefit a friend’s business? “The assurance of ‘Ease of Doing Business’ is provided by ‘illegal donations’ and ‘Electoral Bonds’ provided to the BJP,’ asserted Gandhi.
Jairam Ramesh, the general secretary in-charge of communications for the Congress, claimed on Friday that at least thirty corporations that gave the BJP a total of over Rs 335 crore during the fiscal years 2018–19 and 2022–23 were subject to action by federal agencies during that time.
In addition, Ramesh questioned whether the government would provide a “white paper” detailing the BJP’s financial sources as well as how business entities were “coerced” to make donations by abusing investigative agencies. “If you are unwilling to come up with a factual explanation, then are you willing to present yourself for a Supreme Court-monitored investigation in these dubious deals to loot donation for the BJP?” stated Ramesh.
