‘The Congress government was hijacked,’ Rahul Gandhi said of the Madhya Pradesh elections.
Congress leader Rahul Gandhi claimed that the Congress government was’stolen’ from the state and predicted that the party will gain 150 seats in the upcoming elections.
Gandhi declared at an election rally in Madhya Pradesh that the Congress had forgiven farm loans in Chhattisgarh and that the party’s administration had been overthrown in the state by purchasing legislators.
“A storm is brewing in favour of the Congress.” The party will win between 145 and 150 seats. You (the voters) elected a Congress government five years ago, but BJP leaders (Prime Minister) Narendra Modi, (MP Chief Minister) Shivraj Singh, and (Union Home Minister) Amit Shah bought the MLAs and hijacked your government,” Gandhi added. The Kamal Nath-led Congress government, which ruled Madhya Pradesh for 15 months till March 2020, forgave farm loans for 27 lakh farmers. However, he claimed that by toppling that administration, the BJP fooled workers, farmers, small business owners, and unemployed people.
“The Congress ousted the BJP from power in Karnataka and Himachal Pradesh through love and not hatred,” he told reporters. “In Karnataka, the BJP ran a 40%-cut government. (After the Congress took control there, I instructed the Karnataka chief minister to restore the money stolen by the BJP government from the pockets of impoverished people within five years. “I told him to return the money that the BJP had given to the rich to the poor,” he claimed. “People in the Congress-ruled Karnataka and Chhattisgarh are getting LPG cylinders at Rs 500 each, while people in other states are paying Rs 1,200-1,400 here for the same,” Gandhi said in a statement.
According to the former Congress president, the Congress fulfilled all of its commitments in Karnataka, including farm loan waivers and free bus transportation for women. “Farmers in Chhattisgarh receive the crop’s guaranteed minimum support price (MSP), and labourers are paid Rs 10,000 as wages.” “This is good for the local economy,” he remarked.
